Barcelona has been a city that I’ve wanted to see for many decades. Hearing about the completion of the Virgin Mary tower at Sagrada Famlila with its magnificent star set the planning in motion.
Sagrada Familia by Antoni Gaudi showcase Gothic design and modern Catalan Modernism.
The Nativity Façade: Ornate and Gothic-inspired

The Passion Façade: Austere and modern

Virgin Mary Star
Architecture genius. Walk behind the alter and take a look at the beautiful organ. Look up following the organ pipes and there is a skylight that you can see the Virgin Mary Star from inside! What an unbelievable flow of creativity, design, craftsmanship and execution.

Once inside the interior has so many magestic features for your eyes to view. It’s hard to comprehend the artistic beauty with marvelous height. Visiting at sunset provided the marvelous colors glowing from the stain glass windows.

Interesting design included wheat and grapes at top of cathedral which represent the wine and bread at the Last Supper.

Tossa de Mer
We traveled north up the coast to Tessa de Mer a bay along the Mediterranean with a wonderful beach and medieval castle to add ambience.

The Art in Spain
Montserrat is a Benedictine monastery that hosts the Black Madonna. Was surprised by a magnificent art museum of both old and modern art.

Figueres
Hometown to Salvador Dali and his art museum.
