Our trip to Canadian Rockies started in Jasper National Park. One animal that I wanted to see was a moose and right away there was a female moose grazing in the highway median. We knew we were going to be blessed with a good trip!!
Lake Louise was the focal point of the trip as my grandma said it was one of the most beautiful places she saw. She travel there with Uncle Gerald and Aunt Marie. I wanted to see the blue aqua water that amazed her! Unfortunately, the lake still had ice on it but the mountains surrounding the lake were stunning. We made it!

The Columbia Icefield is a surviving remnant of the thick ice mass that once covered most of Western Canada’s mountains. There are six glaciers that make up the Columbia Icefield and saw Athabasca and Dome glaciers weave through the mountain tops.

On the Columbia Icefield Adventure we walked on Athabasca Glacier. We learned that Snow Dome mountain is the only mountain in the world whose water ran to three oceans; Pacific, Atlantic and Arctic. The Dome glacier was impressive too!

The skywalk was an amazing experience. We had blue skies and almost had the terrace to ourselves to have fun and take ample action photos. The Glacier adventure staff were from all over the world including France and Australian and were so friendly and helpful. Truly made the experience even more delightful.

We dined with the best of Banff Hospitality leaders that night as we had front row table to their annual private event. After the ‘Skol’ the executive chef (Scott Hergott) stopped to ask about our dining experience and shared that he is the head chef for the collection including Glacier Lodge and Sky Bistro.
On the way back to Banff, we were graced with lots of friendly wildlife. Just as we pulled into the highway we saw this goat. After we started down the road it wasn’t long before seeing a big black ball in the road. I threw on the hazards and slowed down. We found the black bear searching for lunch and he was so cute picking up all the rocks as he went along. Then we saw another moose!

We weaved our way back to Banff and found our AirBnB. It was a lovely two bedroom apartment near downtown Banff.
Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Lake Louise was the loveliest. With a table next to the lake view window, the ambiance made the tea with mom the best birthday ever! Tea included finger sandwiches, scones (amazing lemon curd), and all the delicately crafted desserts – perfection. What put it over the top was the glass of Prosecco. Thanks mom for joining me and making it happen!

That evening we got our shopping fix and settled our curiosity of the shops and restaurants on Banff and Bear street. We found a beautiful picture of black bears that came home with me!

Our trip continued with indulgences as we headed to Fairmont Banff. After our facials we enjoyed the mineral pools of all different temperatures. Our favorite was the outside pool with the cool mountain air and amazing views! We met a couple that lived 200 miles north of the arctic circle and enjoyed their stories.

The grand finale of the trip was our gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain. There you had sweeping views of the mountain ranges that just didn’t end! We enjoyed dinner at Sky Bistro with another table next to the window. We joked about our newest saying: “If you don’t ask the answer will always be no”.
