Malachite Kingfisher outfits

Planning for Africa was a several months ordeal. Not only does one research vaccines, bug repellent, red flash lights, wifi hot spots, it’s important to figure out the anticpated weather for each location to begin the clothes packing (and don’t get me started on the new cubes packing trend).

Back to clothes in Africa….. I spent a lot of hours on selecting my wardrobe. The guides recommend wearing neutral colors to avoid attracting animals attention and steer clear of dark colors to keep mosquitos at bay. My wardrobe contains two colors that did not fit this criteria; dark blue and black. Shopping started for neutral clothing that hopefully one day I could wear again at home an not look like I was on a safari…..

My solution was greens, blues, purples, and beiges of solid shirts, golf shorts, capris, and light jackets. The magic with these cotton wonders is it was easy to mix and match and always feel that I matched, And that is how I was regarded to look like a Machete king fisher with the blues and purples highlighting the more neutral green and beige garments.
